It sounds complicated. What exactly is affiliate marketing? It’s simple really. Affiliate marketing is selling other people’s products (or services) for a commission or portion of the money generated by the sale. Commissions can range from less than 10% to more than 70%. The price of the product can range from $5.00 to $500.00 and higher. Special training or start up funding isn’t required to become an affiliate marketer. However, your home based business will be more successful if you know about the product you’re selling and you’re excited about it.
Your task as an affiliate marketer is to drive traffic to the product owner’s sales page, allowing them to convert the prospect into a buyer. The more targeted the traffic the higher the conversion rate will be. Conversion is the percentage of people who visit the site who then buy the product. A cookie is embedded with your affiliate ID on the browser of every visitor who uses that affiliate link to visit the product owner’s page. If the visitor buys you get paid.
There is no limit to what types of product you can promote as an affiliate. On Amazon, you can promote anything they sell from flat screened TVs to diamond jewelry to food. If you want to be in the beauty niche, you can include links using your Amazon associate (affiliate) ID to sell specific beauty products, beauty magazines, books, DVDs, clothes, and spa products. For example on one of our golf sites we promote golf books, DVDs, training equipment, and golf equipment.
An affiliate marketer doesn’t have to be concerned with developing ideas and creating products. You don’t have to deal with customer service follow-ups. Your home based business doesn’t have to worry about inventory to store, credit card processing and shipping. Once you’ve made the sale your work is over.
The product owners want you to be successful. They know that their affiliates can sell a lot more product than they can by themselves. The owners provide formatted emails, reviews that can be placed on blogs, banner ads, and articles. Add your affiliate link and you’re ready to go.
When choosing products make sure you’re comfortable with the quality of the product and the sales pitch. Those qualities reflect back on you.
Building a list of interested potential customers is an important part of affiliate marketing. Your list should be focused on one niche, but there are probably a number of products you can sell. For example: Brides to be would be interested in wedding gowns, invitations, weight loss, flowers, and travel. Offering a free report on romantic weddings that don’t cost a fortune would be one way to build a list of brides.
Affiliate marketing is one way your home based business can be successful on the Internet.

Everyone likes a good deal. Unfortunately we salespeople may mistakenly accept that a good deal for the customer requires that we quote our best price.
That mistake is costly. It can rob us and our company of profits we need and deserve. It can shrink our close rate and cause buyers to act irrationally. When we give prospects a good deal instead of best price we will close more business with happier customers at higher profits.
We can help every customer get a good deal if they will let us take a consultative approach. While no one likes to be sold, it’s difficult for customers today to buy what they really need. The global marketplace that is easily accessed through the Internet presents buyers with more choices for potential solutions than ever before. More choices mean more confusion, and confusion causes fear and irrational behavior. Prospects attempt to reduce fear associated with making the wrong purchase by looking for a simple test that will make the “right” choice obvious.
We often do the same thing when choosing candidates in political elections. Rather than immerse ourselves in the complexities of all the issues and then attempt to select the best (or least worse) candidate, we sometimes choose a major issue that we care about (examples might include abortion rights, immigration, the death penalty, gun control or free trade) and then choose candidates based on where they stand on that one issue. Creating a simple test ensures that we’ll get at least one thing that’s important to us in a candidate. Likewise when we’re confused about what we want out of a purchase decision it’s easy to revert to the simple-to-measure issue of price.
When your prospect asks for your best price you can confidently assure them you will give them a good deal if you will take time to follow through on three consultative actions during your selling encounters.
I. Consider the Whole Product
Every product or service typically has a core functional component plus secondary supporting components such as installation, training and support. In the same way that we focus on the core function when we are the buyer, our prospects associate the purchase price with the core function and ignore the secondary supporting components.
When shopping for a flat-screen TV, it’s easy to compare prices across similar screen sizes. It’s also easy to ignore secondary components like warranty, serviceability, user interface and service life, all of which can have a huge impact on purchase satisfaction. A consultative salesperson gets the buyer to consider how the secondary components might become critical aspects of a really good deal for them.
We could buy homeowners insurance based on the core coverage limits. We ask for quotes on policies with the same coverage limits from difference insurance companies, thinking that an “apples to apples” comparison will allow us to easily identify the best deal when we see the best price. Yet secondary components can be critical to our satisfaction with the purchase. Is there a single point of contact such as a local agent whom we can talk to when we have questions or problems? How does their claim service work? Do they pay? Before Hurricane Katrina, thousands of victims believed they had found the best price on insurance. Later they learned their insurance companies wouldn’t pay their hurricane damage claims, leaving them devastated and homeless. Best price no longer seems like such a good deal to them. Sadly, we often don’t take time to consider the whole product until after we’ve learned an expensive lesson.
II. Enable the Need-Full Purchase
Many secondary components may be worthless to the purchaser and may not be part of their good deal at all. Until the salesperson understands the buyer’s situation and what the buyer really needs the purchase to do for them, the salesperson is in no position to recommend the right combination of product or service components for the customer.
Prospects often revert to making decisions based on “best price” because they don’t even know which questions to ask. A consultative salesperson can educate the prospect on potential questions and then be prepared to help find answers to those the prospect finds relevant to their needs. This gives the salesperson an opportunity to establish trust by being an advocate for the consumer. Salespeople who suggest self-serving or biased questions that are slanted toward the seller’s product or service will only erode trust and jeopardize the sale.
A good deal provides more than just what the customer asked for; it also satisfies what they intended to do. It’s up to the salesperson to make sure everyone is clear on what that is so the purchase can fulfill as many needs as is practical.
III. Make the Deal Safe
Consultative salespeople can promise every prospect a good deal because they know that everyone wants something more than just the best price. Lazy salespeople will simply give prospects what they ask for instead of what they really need. Take an approach that ensures your customers never throw their money away.
The consultative salesperson knows that a customer usually loses when the purchase decision is made primarily on price. Customers are almost always limited by time and money, but spending less than what is really required to satisfy the purchase intent is a waste of those resources. The product or service purchased is often incapable of performing all that the buyer needs done. The buyer risks losing their entire investment and more; when homeowners insurance doesn’t pay a claim, the insurance premiums are gone and so is their home.
A good deal may not be a perfect deal, but it is always a safe deal. When you give a buyer everything they need so they are not wasting their money, you can feel satisfied in knowing you are giving them a really good deal even though your price may not be the best price.
Good Deal Trumps Best Price
When customers believe the best price is more important than a good deal, you’ve already lost the sale. Use the consultative selling approach to uncover your buyer’s unspoken needs, understand their application intent, and link them to the relevant components of your whole product. Show them how the solution you offer is a safe bet for them, and your new customer will soon be telling all their friends about the good deal they got from you.

Why do companies world wide invest fortunes in product development, marketing, sales and afterwards attempt to save as much money as possible on their customer care? Servicing your customers in a respectful and customer oriented way is what causes repeated business.
Here are some recent examples of customer service as I have experienced it. As you might know I serve clients in both North America and Europe, so the examples are from both of the two continents.Example 1:
I recently called up my insurance company. They had just mailed me a letter informing me that the content of my house (All of my stuff I guess) is insured at a specific amount and they were wondering if the amount was suitable.
That is a good question and I decided to call them up to get some advice on what an appropriate amount would be.
The lady on the phone presented herself with a standard greeting and proceeded to ask for my insurance contract number.
I inquired about the letter and the explained that they have been mailing their customer to ensure that they were adequately insured.
If you have a fire in your house, even a small one, the water and follow-on damage from the extinction work can be substantial, she explained. “OK, how much do you think would be adequate?” I asked.
How should I know? I have never seen your house and have no clue about your living standard! You have to know what the value of your possessions is” she said in a very snappy tone.
I was gob-smacked and quickly ended the call.Let’s take a closer look:
The letter from the insurance company caused me to think about my situation. I did buy a new computer and that flat screen TV and some other appliances over the past year – it might be a good idea to look into this.
The lady on the phone could have easily done one of two things: 1) Presented me with an amount along with a statement such as “80% of our customers will be perfect ok with an insured amount of X. We do however recommend that you make a quick inventory of your home and estimate the replacement value of each item – remember to exclude the following from your list: Car….” Which lead us to option 2) She could have adviced me by saying “I would recommend that you do a quick inventory of your home and estimate….” and agree with me that she would call back at a preset time.
I was ready to spend money with the company, but the service or actually the lack of same got me wondering if I am insured with the right company, so now they are losing a customer.
I recently had the opportunity to walk through the call center of the very same insurance company and I noticed a sign saying “Firing us is not an option – Slaves have to be sold”. I wonder if there is a connection to the quality of their customer service.Example 2: Marriott Hotels
I love to stay in Marriott hotels when travelling. They are good business hotels and the service is excellent.Marriott Suites in Anaheim, California
I recently attended a convention in the Anaheim Convention center. When checking in, I noticed that these guys were different. There was a heartfelt friendliness during checking in and next morning in the restaurant it continued.
All of the restaurant staff was nothing but smiles and showed genuine care for the customers. It was not like in other hotels, these guys had that special heartfelt approach to customer care that so many businesses are missing. I was fishing a bit for a yoghurt with the flavor I wanted but could not find it. The lady filling up the bacon and eggs right next to me noticed and offered to check in the kitchen. She was back 30 seconds later with my favorite flavor.
While finishing up, I got a visit from the manager. “Good Morning Sir – how is everything this morning? – Would you be kind enough to let us know if there is anything we can do better or if there is something we can do to make your stay more enjoyable?”
I have heard this “song” many times before, but most of the time it sounds like the person couldn’t care less – but this manager was different. I had the feeling that he was serious and that he was taking me serious. He continued after I had confirmed to him that I was very satisfied.
He stood outside the restaurant three days later when I was leaving. I confirmed with him that he was indeed the hotel manager – he looked concerned about what was coming now. His face lit up in one big smile when I started to sing his staffs praises. He told me that he had focused on delivering excellent customer service in an area where there are hotels everywhere (Disneyland Resort). They wanted to be different and they wanted it to be clear to the customer that they where – They had reached the goal!Let’s take a closer look:
You sometimes hear people make statements like “They should be a bit friendlier – after all we are paying their salary”. I do agree to that, but I once saw a sign in a hotel saying “Not everyone get’s the service they deserve and some people should be happy about that”. That really nails it. A lot of the time people treat hotel staff like dirt and that is unacceptable.
I am a Marriott Platinum Customer and as a professional business traveler, I basically just want a nice clean room with an internet connection that works. I like it if there is some kind of office desk where I can work and a TV where the channels are actually working. Marriott delivers the value I expect and the excellent customer service I want when travelling, so meanwhile I almost exclusively stay with them.Accelerate your business
There is a good old saying which goes something like “You better take care of your customers or someone else will”. Many businesses have not realized that truth or the fact that they are in relationship management no matter if they want to be or not. These businesses invest large amounts of money in installing and maintaining Customer Relationship Management (CRM) solutions which, they believe, will help them serve their customers. They invest money in training their staff on using the telephone system and the CRM solutions. But all too often, they are using their CRM system to increase sales instead of producing an excellent customer service experience. They are not being customer centric as they claim but are in face focused on themselves and their own bottom line.
Accelerate your business by ensuring that all of your members of staff understand that all of them are responsible for the customer experience. Train your staff on what good customer service is and how to produce it. Make it clear to your staff, how you want them to deal with your customers.
Ask yourself this:
How do we generate value for our customers?
How can we increase the customer value?
How can we build (stronger) relationships with our customers
Where do we usually fail (What are the customers complaining about)?
What parts of our processes, systems, solutions or products are flawed?
Take a holistic view before diving into details. Think about how your customers want to be served. Consider arranging for a mystery shopper to test your customer service, and do it on a regular basis.
Plasma and LCD TV models have been with us for some time; both experiencing popularity in homes across the land. The current industry conjecture is whether LCD will become the predominant technology in the future, mainly down to energy efficiency issues that have arisen after yet more European legislation on energy consumption. Hopefully the following article will detail which technology represents the best option for consumers.
Both plasma and LCD TV models are identical in form, naturally both are thin and have a flat screen and in the majority of cases are stunning to look at and a stylish addition to any home. Within the televisions themselves however there are markedly different technologies in operation to produce moving images. Obviously both plasma and LCD TV types are a great improvement on the CRT TVs of old, but do the differences between the two technologies seriously affect the buying decision for consumers?
Plasma televisions operate as a sandwich of tiny liquid crystals between two sheets of glass. These hundreds of thousands of pixels are controlled by specific current changes that affect shade, colour and brightness. With the use of a backlight the changes in shade are displayed on the screen. It is only when all of these crystals are altered rapidly that an image becomes visible.
Plasma televisions on the other hand have a similar glass sandwich but instead of liquid crystals contain a gas such as xenon or neon. Once again current is passed through the gas and this created an image, it is only when this image is passed through a layer of phosphors, representing each primary colour that the true image is created. This process requires considerably more power than LCD, meaning plasma is far more wasteful.
Understandably the two technologies have a variety of advantages and disadvantages. What follows is a categorical analysis.
First is the size and weight. Normally plasma televisions are available in larger screen sizes, particularly fifty inches or more. Typically plasmas are heavier than your average LCD TV but this is marginal. At the moment plasmas have the edge in terms of screen sizes but technological developments are rapidly changing this situation.
There is not much to call between the two technologies when it comes to picture quality. Most experts believe that plasma televisions have better black levels that LCDs but it is evident that LCD TVs produce a sharper image, especially in smaller screen sizes.
A common problem with plasmas is image burn. This is when a residual image is displayed on the screen after the image has been shown for extended periods of time; normally this is a network logo or for gamers the screen display of their favourite game. This is not a problem for LCD models.
Viewing angles for both types of television are about 160 degrees but it is generally understood that plasmas have a slight edge. In terms of glare, normally an LCD TV performs better in brighter environments although due to the poorer black levels, people who watch television in the dark would be better suited with a plasma.
In terms of lifespan the understanding is that while an LCD television can guarantee around sixty thousand viewing hours, around seven and a half years of continuous viewing, plasmas will normally suffer sooner. Some plasmas have been reported to lose half of their brightness after around twenty thousand viewing hours.
It is hoped this article has highlighted some of the differences between plasmas and LCDs. As a consumer the choice is difficult but with recent reports stating that plasmas are almost thirty percent less efficient than LCDs it is understandable that those with an environmental conscience and a keen eye on their household bills will opt for the LCD path.
Mounting a flat screen television to your wall is probably more difficult than you would think. If you do not know what you are doing this is definitely a job you should stay away from, after all, you did spend a lot of money on that beautiful flat screen TV didn’t you? So don’t risk installing the television poorly and letting the TV crash to the ground.
If you think that you have what it takes to install your television wall mount by yourself the first thing that you will want to consider when purchasing you flat screen television wall mount is whether or not your flat screen television model has the ability to be mounted to your wall. Make sure to read over your owners manual and look to see if the owners manual mentions VESA, which stands for Video Electronics Standards Association. If your television has this abbreviation then you know that the television meets the standards of being able to be properly mounted to the wall.
The next thing to consider is what type of wall mount is going to be right for you. You want to figure out where you will be viewing the television and if you might want to turn the television right or left providing you with more options for places to sit and see the TV well. Also you can get wall mounts that tilt up and down, or articulating wall mounts which tilt up and down as well as swivel left and right. Just think about your room and how it is arranged and decide if you will want to provide yourself with different options for where to sit. If you think you might want to sit in a few different areas you should at least consider the swiveling wall mount if not the articulating wall mount.
After you have narrowed down what type of wall mount you are going to go with you can consider the installation of the wall mount. Again, if you don’t have the tools or knowledge to do this properly you should definitely hire a professional. Figure out where you are going to mount the television, and then make sure that you have the appropriate tools for the job. Usually you will need a stud finder, screw drivers, a tape measure, a socket wrench and a cordless drill at the very least. Make sure that you read the owners manual for proper installation and follow it very carefully, this will make sure that you don’t mess it up and it ensures that your television is safely mounted.

Computer screens and monitors have been going through somewhat of a revolution in the last few years. While the basic shape for the CRT monitor hadn’t changed for some years, these bulky monitor systems are now on the way out with the next generation of computer screens all being flat LCD or plasmas.
And while touch screens have been used in industrial systems for many years they too have been going through a renaissance with the technology becoming more and more useful thanks to its use in mobile phones and PDA systems.
Monitors are always going to be needed as an output device but their future lies in being flexible and able to adapt to the latest technologies – such as touch screen. With the introduction of Windows 7 and the next generation of operating systems expected to be multi-platform, LCD monitors are perhaps only going to be a stepping stone until all touch screen technologies are implemented on most LCD screens.
However, touch screens have been used in industrial applications for many years as they cut out the need to have separate input (keyboard) and output devices (monitor). The next generation of touch screens are probably going to resemble the flat screen TVs such as LCDs or plasmas.
LCD TVs in industrial applications can be protected from the harmful elements that are present in industrial areas such as dust, dirt, liquids and excessive temperatures by placing them in an LCD enclosure.
LCD enclosures allow the safe use of any sized LCD or plasma TV screen in an industrial surrounding they can also be adapted to accept flat panel touch screen devices and are essential for the safe using of LCD screens and touch screens in hazardous environments.

If you read the title you may think that it is Chinese. But it’s not. Here you will read some tips on choosing the best 52 LCD TV, or else flat screen TV. Now that flat-screen TV’s like LCD and plasmas are the norm and the bulky cathode ray tube (CRT) has gone the way of the dinosaurs there has been a rise in the types of applications these screens are being used for.
Whilst home entertainment is obviously still the number one use there has been a rise in using LCD TVs outdoors for a range of purposes, from digital signage, outdoor TV entertainment in bars and restaurants and for providing information such as interactive maps on high streets.
Because LCD TV’s and plasma screens are flat they are ideal for such applications as they take up little space and can be mounted on walls and on pedestals without causing too much obstruction.
Their growth outdoors has been quite dramatic and the outdoor digital signage industry is a booming sector even in these uncertain economic climates. However, using LCD and plasma screens outside does come with some issues, primarily regarding the fact that most LCD TV’s are not designed to operate outdoors and of course the natural elements of rain, snow, hot and cold extremes and wind blown debris can all cause an LCD or plasma TV to expire.
Ensuring any outside TV system is protected against theft and vandalism is also important as an unsecured TV will soon disappear or get damaged if left unattended.
However, a simple and cost effective method of protecting flat screen TV systems in outdoor locations is available thanks to the outdoor LCD TV enclosure.
LCD enclosures are protective casings that not only keep the rain, dust, snow and wind blown debris out of the system but also contain heating and cooling systems that ensure the safe operation even in extreme temperatures.
Not only are LCD enclosures waterproof, dustproof and can cope with the extremes of temperature such as arctic winters and heat waves they also protect against unwanted attention by vandals and thieves as they are often fitted with shatterproof screens and are built from solid steel.
LCD enclosures provide a cost effective, practical and secure solution for all outdoor TV requirements from outdoor digital signage to outdoor TV entertainment.

Earn money online, the secret to online success, thousands a day from the comfort of your own home, are just a few of the pitches you hear to get you to invest in those work at home schemes. What you will find , for the most part is, the only ones getting wealthy are those selling the schemes. First of all, if they promise that only an hour or two a day will make you rich, than they are simply trying to get lazy peoples money. Whatever you decide is the best for you, it will take a lot of work. Believe me, the ones who are trying to scam you, put a lot of work in developing their schemes. Are they all scams? No, just most of them. In the next few minutes I will explain and review some of my attempts at finding a true online money maker, and let you decide for yourself. To actually make money using your computer, breaks down into two key functions. You are either performing a task or you’re selling something. Performing task would include Taking Surveys, Writing E-mails and Data Entry just to name a few. If you are fast at typing, and you don’t mind the monotony, you might make some extra money. However you will never get rich. As for surveys, I personally think they are not worth the hassle. I know there are some entrepreneurs that swear they got rich doing nothing more than surveys. That might have been the case before they got popular. When I dabbled in them a few years ago, it was nothing like the web site had advertised it would be. There are two different kinds of surveys you can take. One won’t cost you anything, and the other you will be asked to join a club or try a product at a considerable discount. The first type of survey offers a big ticket item. You’ve probably have gotten e-mail offers about them. You know, the FREE X Box 360, flat screen TV, or once in a lifetime vacation, to name a few. For those of you who have completed the task, more power to you. For those who have not yet tried, don’t. In a nutshell it goes something like this. After an hour of answering stupid questions and signing up for things to try that you don’t need, and just when you think you’re almost there, they inform you that you have to get at least two more of your friends and put them through the same torture, before you get your prize. The second type of survey, the one that can make you rich, works like this. Sponsors will pay you to try their product or join their club. It sounds good until you actually start taking the surveys. To make more than a couple of bucks, for most higher paying surveys, you have to spend your own money to buy a product or join a club you probably don’t want or need. Also, all the survey web sites offer the same deals, so there is not much to choose from. If you should decide to try the survey game, make sure you document every date of the transactions. Most of the free month trials are continued until you call and cancel. You could find that you are spending more than you’re making, if you are not careful. So now that you’ve decided that selling would be better than performing a task, what on earth is your next move. This is where the big money is, and of course the biggest scams. You’ve seen the ads on TV, and undoubtedly even saw a few when you first started Googleing. I know I did. Fell for one too. They sound something like this. We will set you up with your very own money making web site, and if you act now, we will throw in nine more, for a total of ten money producing sites for just $39.99. What they fail to explain is, the sites only make money if people visit them. Once you have bought the package, they sell you on the advertising. Now you are into it for hundreds if not thousands of dollars, and now and than one of the web sites produces a sale, so they can continue pronouncing they are money making sites.Whatever you sell on the internet, there are only two effective ways to generate traffic. Pay-per-click and article marketing are the most proven and reliable forms of internet advertising available. To find anything, almost everyone uses one of the top search engines, like Google, Ask, MSN, or Yahoo. Lets take Google for example because they are the biggest. When you Google whatever you are inquiring about, the format is always the same. The left side is reserved for the free articles on the subject, and the right side is for the sponsored ads. These ads are set at a given per click rate, which means that you only pay when someone clicks on your ad. The idea is that you know how many clicks it takes for every sale you make. The other way to generate traffic to your site is writing articles on the subject and getting great positioning. Because, like pay-per- click, the more people that read your article, the better chance you have of making a sale. Getting the best position for both PPC and article marketing is not by chance. There are tips you must learn. With hard work and the proper guidance you can make a very substantial income. Will it happen over night? Of course not, the average person will start to see real results in three to six months. So where do you go for the guidance, and what is it going to cost?Whither you choose to sell your own product or become an affiliate and sell all kinds of products and services, you need to know where to turn to get stated on the right path. Like everything else there are dozens of sites that profess to helping the affiliate marketer get started. The one that I settled on and became a member of is Wealthy Affiliate.Wealthy Affiliate is undoubtedly the highest rated and most recommended and regarded Internet marketing program available online today. They don’t just take your money and ask for more, like other sites do.
